AOS Special Membership Classes - Nomination Guidelines

The process for nominating individuals to the American Ornithological Society's special membership classes is outlined in the society’s Bylaws. Nominations may be made by any member of AOS and are vetted, as appropriate, by the Committee on Nomination of Fellows and Elective Members and the Committee on Nomination of Honorary Fellows. Nominations of individuals to these membership classes require that three Fellows confirm a nomination for Fellow or Honorary Fellow and that three Elective Members and/or Fellows confirm a nomination for Elective Member. Nominations of qualified individuals from under-represented groups are strongly encouraged. The two committees are responsible for presenting the final slates of candidates each year.
